A fitness app with no ads, no telemetry and no third-party trackers

· updated September 16, 2026

Many free apps are funded by advertising, which gives them a reason to know you. GymAI is built without that machinery, and fitness app privacy is part of the design rather than a setting you have to find.

GymAI is not open yet. This is how it is being built, so you know what you are signing up for before it launches.

Three things GymAI does not have

  • No advertising. There is no ad product, so there is nothing to profile you for.
  • No telemetry. The product does not report your behaviour back to us.
  • No third-party calls. No outside scripts, no tracking pixels and no cookies that are not ours, on our landing page and on this news site too.

What fitness app privacy looks like in practice

Leaving out advertising removes the reason to collect more than the app needs. Leaving out telemetry means how you move through the app is not reported back. Leaving out third-party calls means no outside company learns that you opened a page, because no outside code runs on it.

On top of that, some of your data is sealed with a key only you hold: body measurements, pain history, reasons for missing a session and custom activities. There is no recovery copy and no operator key for those, so nobody at GymAI or your gym can read them. Your training history, the sets and weights you log, is not sealed; it is protected by access control in our code, and we say so plainly.

Access you grant, and withdraw

When a trainer or physio sees your data, it is because you handed it to them, and only for as long as you leave it handed over. Your gym never sees who trains there at all.

Professionals do not request access; you grant it. When you withdraw it, their view closes. Choosing your gym gives your plan that gym’s exact equipment, but the gym is never told your name, how many people chose it or when you visit.

Even the waiting list

Your email on our waiting list is used for one thing only: to tell you GymAI has launched. No advertising, never sold or passed to third parties, and one click in any email removes you.

Frequently asked questions

If there are no ads, how is it free?

People who train and people who offer services will both start free. Separately, a gym can choose to pay for its own instance to serve its own members. That is a separate decision, never an expiring trial, and it does not rely on selling your data.

Does the app work without a connection?

Yes. The app is coming with the first release, and logging, rest timing and the plan will work with no signal, then reconcile later.

Do other fitness apps do the same?

We checked 41 competitors product by product. Not one declares end-to-end encryption.

Join the waiting list on those terms.
