Why members should know exactly what is on your gym floor

· updated September 16, 2026

A new member walks in with a plan from an app, a video or a friend. Half of it uses machines your gym does not have. They improvise, feel lost, and some of them never come back. The fix is simple: publish a gym equipment list that says what is on your floor.

What changes when your gym equipment list is public

  • Plans fit your gym. A GymAI member who says I train here gets your exact equipment, and their plan stops offering machines you do not own.
  • Less setup for the member. Nobody has to tick two hundred boxes to describe your room.
  • Members see what your gym has before they walk in.

What a new member goes through without it

Picture the first week. The plan says leg press, and your floor has a hack squat instead. It says cable row, and your cable station takes a different handle. Every swap is a small decision the member makes alone, often without the experience to make it well. Regulars cope. Newcomers, the people who most need things to feel easy, are the ones left guessing.

When the plan already knows your room, those decisions disappear. The member walks to the machine the plan names, because it is there.

Detailed down to the maker

GymAI’s equipment vocabulary covers 794 types of equipment and 139 makers. Machines are grouped, so you answer a group at a time, and one answer, None of this, closes a group you do not have.

The maker matters more than it seems. Two chest presses from different brands can feel quite different, and a member who knows which one they will meet can prepare for it. Of the 41 competitors we checked product by product, not one filters by brand.

Machines, and the services around them

Equipment is only part of the picture. The gym account also holds what you offer, chosen from a closed list: changing room, lockers, showers, toilets, drinking water, step-free access, parking, bicycle parking, a free-weights area, a machine area, a spinning room, a boxing area and a sauna, among others. The exercises your gym supports are derived from the machines you list, so you never have to write them out.

Keeping your gym equipment list current

Floors change. When nothing has, one press, All of it is still right, dates the record. How current it is marks the oldest part, so you know what to check next. People who train can add gyms before the gym arrives, but once you are there, what you publish outranks what they contributed.

Free, for one gym or a whole chain

The gym account is free, with no trial and no end date, and it is the same account for an independent gym and for a chain. It trains nobody and never sees who chose your gym. It holds no health data, no free text and no photos, and we never ask how many members you have. Here is everything the free gym account includes.

Frequently asked questions

Does listing my equipment cost anything?

No. The gym account is free with no end date. Paying is a separate decision, never an expiring trial: it gives a gym its own instance to serve its own members.

Will GymAI tell me which members chose my gym?

No. The gym is never told who chose it: no names, no counts, no visits.

Is GymAI open yet?

Not yet. The waiting list is open, and the first centres on it are the ones that form the map.

Add your gym to the waiting list and we will write to you when GymAI opens.
